Extraordinary Parents Night: Executive Functioning and ASD

Partnership for Extraordinary Minds will hold their November Extraordinary Parents Night meeting on Executive Functioning and ASD on November 10 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Dr. Laurie Dietzel, co-author of Late, Lost, and Unprepared: A Parents' Guide to Helping Children with Executive Functioning, will provide a user-friendly framework for understanding the self-regulatory, cognitive control skills described as the executive functions. After defining these skills, she will focus on working memory, initiation, and cognitive flexibility.

Setting realistic expectations, providing appropriate accommodations, and interventions will be summarized. There will also be time for questions and discussion.

This parent meeting will take place at the Rockville Library Meeting Room (21 Maryland Avenue) in Rockville.
